New Zealand Jab Injury – Sarah, From New Zealand

Sarah, New Zealand

It has been two months since y injury and a lot has happened since. I will start with the positives — after being dismissed so many times by multiple doctors at the same practice, I have changed practices and now have a. Doctor and nurse who are actually willing to help and do further testing for me.

During my time in the hospital and throughout the last two months, I have experienced chest pain (muscle and heart pain) in my body, which felt like it was radiating into my bones, tachycardia, nausea, brain fog (to the point where I would forget what I was talking about mid-sentence), uncontrollable shakes, and pain pressure in my head along with a  weird tingly sensation in my face. Once I was diagnosed with POTS, every single symptom not related to POTS didn’t seem to be acknowledged.

After two weeks of being in hospital, I discharged myself as it seemed there was nothing more they could do for me. I was still unable to walk but the occupational therapist decided I wasn’t eligible to be given a wheelchair even though I hadn’t been able to walk the whole time I was in hospital and had to be wheeled out to the car.

My partner had to buy a wheelchair for me as getting from A to B (the car to inside the house and the lounge to the bathroom) just wasn’t doable for me.

I lost six kilos in the first six weeks after having the vaccine. I am now able to eat more but still experience nausea and my appetite has still not properly returned.

I have made some improvements such as being able to sit up and stand for a few seconds at a time. On a good day, I can walk to the bathroom without having to be pushed in the wheelchair but with that, I experience chest pain, a racing heart, palpitations, and dizziness. I Have been told by doctors the only way to get better is to push through but it is extremely difficult when your heart goes from 70 to 120 in a matter of seconds and just keeps climbing until you sit down.

Life is not the same for me or my family anymore. I am unsure if I will be able to return to my business. My heart feels like it will never be the same again. I am always aware of it fluttering and racing. Not one day it goes by where I am not aware of my heart.

Little things I took for granted in life before such as taking a shower has become a huge ordeal for me.

I haven’t been able to do anything for my daughter other than give her hugs. It makes me angry that this vaccine has basically taken away my ability to look after my child. She asked me to do her hair this morning while sitting in my wheelchair — I got halfway through and had to stop as it was too exhausting.

Please share my story as I want people to know this is not rare. It’s happening all over the world and we are being labelled as anti-vaxxers spreading misinformation.
